What is honey ointment?
Honey ointment is an ointment with honey and in the case of ENT-Winkel an ointment with pure honey. Our pure honey is harvested from vital bee colonies that collect nectar from specific flowers suitable for our products. This allows us to guarantee consistent operation and quality.
The benefits of pure honey
Pure honey provides antibacterial protection. This is because the high sugar content and low pH value form a honey layer over the nasal mucosa (including wounds). This layer protects against the penetration of bacteria.
A high sugar content attracts fluid from the underlying tissue to the wound. This ensures a moist wound environment. This allows wounds to heal faster. This also applies to wounds in your nose.
