In most cases, loss of smell is temporary and will eventually resolve on its own. However, it can also be permanent. Smell training can help restore your sense of smell.

Smell training is a way to train your brain to perceive smells (correctly) again.
The training itself is simple: twice a day, you smell different bottles containing different scents for 20 seconds each. This trains your brain to associate the scents with the appropriate plant, herb, or food.
If you keep up the training long enough, there's a greater chance that your sense of smell will (partially) recover.
The complete StimuScent scent training consists of 3 scent sets, each with 4 jars of essential oils with their own scents:
Each set contains a fragrance combination of floral, citrus, fresh, and herbal notes. The scents and fragrance combinations were not chosen at random. They are all 12 internationally recognized fragrances, distinctive enough to effectively train your sense of smell.
In addition, the sets provide a complete 12-week scent training program. For optimal results, you should continue the scent training for at least 24 weeks. You can start with Set 1, then Set 2, and optionally, you can also do Set 3 for the greatest chance of success.
The Smellow app is a handy addition to your smell training. The app helps you structure your training sessions, with clear visual guidance and a built-in timer. This way, you know exactly when to smell and for how long. You can track what you smell and how intensely you experience it during each training session. This makes it easier to maintain consistency and monitor your progress. Smellow is free to use and is intended as a practical support for smell training.
